Forms for  ICT Students ONLY


You should submit this form if you are experiencing any difficulties during a semester and are having difficulties completing assessment(s) on time, either through illness, mental health, or other serious events that are outside of your control.

You may submit this form if you believe your work was graded incorrectly or if certain circumstances were not taken into account by the lecturer.

Please note that fees apply and vary depending on the type of request you are submitting: Recheck or Review. The differences between the two are explained below:


Recheck

A Recheck is an administrative process that involves verifying the recording and calculation of the component scores for an assessment.

You must submit and pay for a Recheck within 5 working days of receiving your verified grade. No specific grounds are required for a Recheck request.

The College will confirm that all marks have been correctly recorded and totalled.

Please note: A Recheck does not involve re-marking your work.

Cost: €15 per module


Review

A Review is not automatic and will only be granted where valid grounds are clearly established and the application is submitted and paid for within 5 working days of the publication of ratified results.

Disagreement with an assessment outcome is not considered valid grounds for a Review.

A Review may involve reconsideration of the assessment decision, but this does not always require re-marking the work. Applications that do not meet the required grounds will be denied, and the fee will not be refunded.

There are three grounds on which you may request a Review. You must select one of the following:

  1. The academic regulations of the College were not applied correctly.

  2. There was a procedural irregularity in the assessment process.

  3. Compassionate circumstances existed which were not known or considered by the College.
